Adolph Schinner was born in Schweinnitz, a province in Prussian Silesia in 1831. He immigrated to the United States and lived in Kan. before moving to Denver, Colo. in 1860. Schinner opened the "Denver City Bakery" in 1862 at what is now 1452 Blake Street. In the mid-1860's, he opened Schinner's, a store on Larimer Street. Schinner was a charter member of the Denver Turnverein and the Shrine Lodge, AF & AM, and served as secretary on the first Denver School Board and in the first territorial...
